text: To Ezuchaniyo. S.D.O. had had a boat built to navigate the Dayang, but was put to the necessity of caulking the seams in the bottom with cotton wool and sealing wax - Government sealing wax - quite a fine boat if it had kept the water out.

text: Halted for a dak and dealt with one of the rare appeals from an order of the Sub-divisional Officer. The Naga rarely if ever appeals unless he really considers that he has been treated unfairly or against his own customary law.
