To Khonoma. On the way I dealt with the question of the clearing of plantation round panikhets and fixed 100 ft. as the distance within which the owner of terraces has a right to clear the jungle if the owner of the jungle neglects to do so after request. This 100 ft. is to be measured over the surface and not in a horizontal plane; it is possible that it will not be enough in very steep places, but it is not very likely that such a case will arise. If it does it can be dealt with on its merits, for nearly all cultivated slopes 100 ft. will be more than enough. |
