Halted Tesangki. Dealt with a few cases and renewed a number of gun licenses, cancelled one and suspended three for shikaring in the Reserve Forest. The climbing bamboo has started to seed, and this, according to tradition, for it has not seeded in living memory, will certainly be followed by a severe famine on account of the rats that will live on the crops when the seeds come to an end. Meanwhile the poor are collecting them assiduously (bamboo seeds that is, not rats) to brew drink with. |
