text: I spent most of the day in the Museum, but Annandale, Tipper and I went to the Zoo in the afternoon. The Zoo is very spacious & had several good exhibits, including Takin (2 for the London Zoo), Tahr & Markhor, Binturong, Panda, Nilgaie, Mithans, Huluks & Siamang, etc. On the big 'tank' are swarms of Indian Darters & Cormorants (wild), which nest on the islands. Mr J. van Manen dined with us in the evening.
