A wild night with strong north wind & rough sea. Same in the morning; very cold. The ship rolled heavily and yawed about uneasily. In the afternoon it moderated a bit & by nightfall the wind had dropped considerably. Barcelona was passed in the early morning & the Balearic Ids. somewhat later (Run. 205 Km.)

We had lost time during the night, through having to alter course several points while all hands attended to the bridge-awnings etc. which had carried away. Night fairly calm.
