text: Oct. 17th. - To Longlam. A long hot march - 18 or 19 miles through Safrai and Singlo Tea gardens and the Abhaypur Reserve. In the first 16 miles we rose only 200 feet, that we did not lose again but 1,300 in the last 2 or 3, camping at about 1,800 feet. Sandflies and mosquitos bad. A small village of some 20 houses was found to be unmarked on the map.
