meeting with headman Michivam; photography in Ukhrul |

Up by 7.30, feeling distinctly seedy, and off to Ukhral (sic) village. Found bundobast timed for 10.30a.m. Mrs T. very trying, said light good enough for anybody, didn't want to keep people from fields etc. All very well, but its the only chance I shall ever have. Had to make the best of it, headache & all. Photographed headman, Michivam, from all angles available. |

Went back towards village and took picture of Naga chiefs' memorial cairns. |

By the way, went into headman's house & saw heads, relics of old days |

(22) Whether zu or internal disturbance of intimate nature, felt bloody all day & was sick as a dog after tea. Col. T. & Mrs rather agitated. Col. T. dosed me when then came back from their walk; internal disturbance had resolved itself by that time and I felt better. Empty as Hades and ate good dinner at Duncan's. Slept like dead under new Naga blankets. Col. T. played hockey with troops at fort and complained bitterly about stiffness. |
