Went back up Naga path to Falls, with Umaid & tiffin-coolie - Humja building new rafts. Jeff fished slowly upstream. Bathed before tea-cum-tiffin; Jeff got a nice fish, about 20lbs. Naga's eyes nearly fell out at sight of Lex in bathing-dress; her skin is very white. Lovely bathe, but muddy & awkward getting in. Green, warm water. Came back slowly. Heard shindig in opposite jungle. Suspected Nagas [or] elephants. Waited some time in hope of tiger but it proved to be monkeys crashing about in trees. Camp very lovely in dark. Mist hung over trees above, moon shining through, glow of fire (62) and white-wrapped Nagas standing about like ghosts. Small boy turned up to be dressed again and brought friend |
