Halted. Jeff went fishing early. We thought we had long, empty morning, but large breakfast arrived, and out outlook brightened. Dealt with cut at back of man's knee. Washed more clothes. Staff rigged clothes-line to H of P, thus finding use for it at last. Men turned up with Jeff's spoon. Jeff returned, with one smallish fish. More bank fell into the river. March reputed to be between 5 and 7 miles, with 13 day after. More off the waistline, we hope. |

In p.m. man with grazed knee and cut foot. Wish they would choose more bandageable places to fall on. Many sambhur tracks round camp, many Kukis of mixed breed, and many smells. Jeff fished again in p.m. but got nothing. Celia and I spent most of day bringing diaries up to date. Heard 30 men have turned up to carry. |
