(26) March 25th Jessami. 14.75. |

Asked for tea 5.30, as march reputed to be very long. Abung had repaired my heavy chapplis, so wore them to start with. Tea arrived 5.40; breakfast 7.30 and coolies, after prolonged yelling by headman, 8a.m. Left 8.5. Reached Kuki Kharasom 11a.m.; held long dispensary in hot sun. Chapplis had given out & had to wear nailless ones, which were very slippery. Had one fall. Went on & on & on, getting hotter & more tired. Sighted several villages, but none of them Jessami. Eventually saw it about 3p.m. Long time getting there but a good perao. Two headmen with zu & hen. Gave zu to cookhouse. Thought Luikai looked a bit odd about it, but put it down to fatigue. |
