text: Formerly, it is said, certain unamiable individuals (or villages) used to set "deadfall" traps by paths used by travellers. The traps were cunningly disguised as shelters, such as are put up by travellers sleeping out, and the weights were concealed by leaves and thatch. Tied to the roof was a fire-thong; and one wet night a party would come along and seek shelter, and one of them would pull the convenient fire-thong in order to light a fire - and down came the weighted roof.
text: Stone shoots appear to have been used by the Zemi at convenient places on the village approaches.
