Stone-faced hollow just inside walls in west corner. Mouth of well-defined stone-banked road opens on to east side of pit, at higher level. Just beyond hill-crest; level strip resembling track but unwalled leads along ridge. Could not trace beyond edge of wood, where there is a small monolith 2' high. |

About 70 to 100 yards up the hill, ditch crossed it, and curves back parallel to crest, line being lost on steep slope; but line of greener grass visible from above suggests palisade defence or bank continued to point at or near monolith. All items marked on the plan have been seen on the ground. |
