text: The Northern Nzemi live on the high but not very broken (4) section of the Barail in the Naga Hills, between the North Cachar border and the Angami country. They are believed to number about 3,000 souls and for many generations there has been culture- contact between them and the Western Angami. They call themselves Nzemi, and the Central and Western Nzemi refer to them as Nremi, the 'Upper Men'.
