text: The Survey of the Naga Hills. The Survey of the Naga-Munipuri boundary is by this time complete, and Captain Butler with Major Godwin Austen are now free to make for the Patkoi under the somewhat extensive and hazy instructions of the Government of India. They will hardly this season make their way through the 170 miles of unexplored highlands lying behind Seebsagur and Luckimpore, and between the Naga Hills district and the Patkoi Pass. The nearer tribes have, however, expressed themselves willing to received the party; and their labors, scientific and gastronomic, have up to date not been altogether fruitless. They have discovered two new descriptions of partridge. - Pioneer.
