text: 23. The inhabitants differ only from the Tablungias in wearing a small waist flap, generally made of a woody fibre, woven into a coarse cloth. Here, as very generally I think in these hills, a youth having taken a fancy to a girl, either of his own or a neighbouring village, has to serve in her parents' house for a certain time, varying from one to two or more years, according to agreement, before he can marry her, as was Jacob's case. Outside the villages, within a circle of stones surrounding two trees, supporting a small platform, the harvest festivals take place. Large quantities of garlic are grown in these villages in small fenced gardens, panjies studding the ground between the plants.
