Up early. Started off 7.30 and arrived at river about 9. Some little time lost in finding road on other side. Coolies came down wrong path and as there was no ford they had to go round which took them about an hour which I passed very pleasantly in bathing and sailing a raft about. Breakfasted about 11. I started about 11.30 arriving at Tablung at 4. Found a lot of letters and papers waiting us in stockades. Opened and read letters. Disappointed at not finding Ogle and Hinde here. After dinner wrote copy of letter official to Surveyor General. Made arrangements for early visit to mark. |
