text: In forwarding pay bills for the month of January, the undersigned requests that in addition to the Supply Bill for Rs 1000 asked for in the abstract, another for Rs 500 may also be taken out of the balance of the last pay bills and sent for in his name to Messrs. Grindley & Co. No intimation has yet been received by the A.S. as to whether Capt. Badgley has sent the L.P. Certificate for the Establishment of the Survey Party in the Naga Hills to Sibsagar. Information on this point is respected, and also when the sum of Rs 1000 is received from that Officer for the use of this survey. (The balance of pay still due to this party may be remitted in cash to the A.S. if opportunity offers.) R.G.W.
