text: The Naga Hills District thus established proved a great success. The Angamis seeing that the British Government had turned over a new leaf, refrained from meddling with those under its protection, and Lieutenant Gregory, and his successor, Captain Butler, both excellent officers, obtained something approaching to real influence over them.
