text: On the same day that Lieutenant Wingate started from Sachima, the dak' carried by friendly Nagas, was robbed between Karuphima and Piphima, and the bearers ill treated, but not killed. A small detachment was despatched in search of the perpetrators of this aggression ( supposed to be the Konoma men), but did not succeed in coming up with any of them. From this date the daks were sent under escort, throwing additional duty on the hard worked troops.
