27th February, Sunday. Halted to give ourselves one more chance of obtaining the services of the Survey Party whose aid would be invaluable to us just now as it would enable me to obtain a correct map of the country before laying the matter before Government. |

Nothing of importance occurred to day beyond the receipt of a letter (No. 24, [vide page 87], dated 26th February 1870) Dr. Brown from which I was rather amused to learn that one of the reasons which led him to consider the Zullo as identical with the moon [sic] was because from a careful enquiry he had come to the conclusion that the river in question "is the only one recognized by the Muniporees as the Maw river" and I think its rather a pity he did not make this discovery some ten days ago, at a time when I was enquiring right and left among the Munipoorees and Nagas for any information regarding this very river and a time when I was first told there was no such river and then that there were two of them. |
