2nd March, Wednesday. Having waiting until Dr. Brown rejoined me this morning we moved camp to the banks of the Kihur a stream flowing below and to the east of the hill on the summit of which stands the village of Bhekmemah or young. [sic] The march today was a short one being only about 4 or 5 miles long but parts of the road were very bad. Received a letter from Dr. Brown (No.26, dated 1st March 1870), stating he can see no reason to modify his former opinion so there is no help for it now and the matter must be referred to the Government. |

3rd March, Thursday. A long weary, harassing march of some 10 miles over lofty mountains and along a most villainous path brought us at least to the village of Kenomahot Poplongmai. |
