17th March, Thursday. Crossing a stream called Tinghi by the Kookees a march of about 11 miles brought us to Migoolok, a Naga village some 3 or 4 miles direct east of the Katsah or Kalkong Peak. |

18th March, Friday. Having had continuous rain the whole night and the weather looking very uncertain, we decided on halting and getting some of our things dry again but in this we were disappointed for it came on to rain worse than ever and we had a regular downpour all day lasting until late in the afternoon when taking advantage of the short lull, I succeeded in roughly mapping out this portion of the country which bit alone was wanting to complete my work as regards the boundary, for Dr. Brown agrees with me that the Katsah or Kalkong Peak is identical with the Daotighur Mountain and this range takes us to the sources of the Jheeri where we meet the Cachar Frontier. |
