None of the Vehutzumah men have come near me with the exception of Lauvunu's brother who came to me with a message from Luvuna (who is "keeping gena") asking me not to summon the Penmahs of the Vehutzumah clan until tomorrow as they were anxious to have one more general meeting today to which of course I have consented. |

Old Satha my trusty Dobasha of Jotsomah turned up today and told me very confidentially that he thought the Vehutzumah clan would obey me but that he could not say for certain as one or two of the younger chiefs were still holding out, and that in fact it would be a touch and go affair and that I had better be very careful and keep up a good watch and guard and take care to see that the women and children did not leave the village as that would be a sure sign that some treachery was intended, which of course I know before I hear the two Penmahs Rhitzo and Richale are doing their best to induce the rest to submit warning the others that they would hold them responsible for the evils that may hereafter befall their clan, etc. |
