text: In Golaghat the Assistant-Commissioner has taken steps to establish a cotton market for the protection of the Nagas, for it is believed that they are imposed upon by traders in the plains. Great difficulty is experienced in changing their system of trade, but it is hoped that in the coming year one fixed 'hat' will be established as an experiment near the Wokha garden, or on one of the paths leading to the hills. It is estimated that 1,200 maunds of cotton are brought down to Golaghat.
