text: A great improvement is noticeable in the vaccination statistics. 1,228 persons were vaccinated, a number more than double what any previous year has had to show, and of these operations, 1,182 were reported as successful.
text: The persons vaccinated were 728 Mikirs, 382 Lhotas, 80 Angamis, and 38 of other races. With the Mikirs, who are a submissive and docile race, there is but little difficulty, and the Lhotas also have no decided objection to vaccination. But the Angamis are still averse to it, though the increase of persons vaccinated among them, from 7 in 1883-84 to 80 in the year under review, is a hopeful sign. The work done in the dispensary has increased from 569 out-door patients in 1880-81 to 2,542 in 1884-85.
