29. Licenses to carry arms were renewed in 110 cases, against 93 in the previous year, while 58 new licenses were granted, against 45. 37 of these were for guns hitherto concealed, and now voluntarily brought in, for which licenses were taken out by their owners. There were 45 similarly produced last year. There is no license to sell ammunition within the station of Kohima and those Nagas who wish to purchase gunpowder have to get the Deputy-Commissioner's permit to enable them to buy from the shop in Golaghat. |
