text: 61. A few Nagas from Borgoya, Mullung, Khougonia and Chougonia Sorugong Changs visited the Deputy Commissioner of Sibsagar and brought in the usual presents of goats, spears, etc. A Military Police guard consisting of one havildar, one naik and twelve sepoys was again posted at Cherideo to prevent the Nagas of Kongon, Jaktung and other changs from using the Tiru path. The Nagas in this neighbourhood gave no trouble during the year but the fines imposed upon the tribes using the Tiru path in 1895 on account of the burning of the Cherideo godown have not yet been paid. There were three criminal cases in which Nagas were concerned - two in the Sadr and one in the Golaghat subdivision, but none of them was of any importance. The general conduct of the Nagas on the Sibsagar frontier was satisfactory.
