text: 66. Only slight damage was done to public works in the district b the earthquake of 12th June. Three new rest-houses were constructed on the cart-road between Nichuguard and Mao. The state of the road during the rainy season is far from satisfactory, wheeled traffic being almost impossible. There is also a great need of parapets along dangerous portions of the road. New waterworks for Kohima station were opened during the year.
