One murder was committed in the Naga village of Okalong near Kairong, and was hushed up by the villagers, but a little later was discovered by a Lambu, who was visiting the village. A Kuki village near the Cachar border was charged with raiding another Kuki village in British territory, but the whole affair was more of the nature of a family dispute than of a criminal offence. Two Manipur Kukis were killed by Lushais, in whose country they were trading, and two innocent Lushais trading in Manipur are reported to have been arrested b some Kukis of the same clan as the murdered men; the matter was still under enquiry at the close of the year.
