61. This tribe was, as usual, very well behaved during the year. With the exception that they do not pay revenue, they are just as much under control as any revenue-paying village. The Deputy Commissioner was unable to tour amongst them, but he hopes to visit them next cold weather, as he intends to open up their country by cutting a good bridle-path through it. He anticipates no difficulty about labour; and as they do not pay revenue, the path will be cut free of cost. The only expense will be the cost of a few tools. During the year the bridle-path, which runs through part of the Eastern Angami and the Sema political conrol, was kept in good repair. The bridge over the Keleki was finished and is now open. |

The Deputy Commissioner reports that the whole political control area of the district is now in such an excellent state, that revenue could be take immediately from the village without costing Government an extra penny; also not that he is well acquainted and on friendly terms with the independent tribes bordering on our frontier, the extension of the political control area would be an easy task if undertaken. |
