In the Konyak country it was thus possible to transverse in a single day several linguistic areas, and the material culture too differed noticeably from village to village. Among most of the other Naga tribes there was much less linguistic and cultural diversity, and in Ao or Angami country one could travel for several days without encountering significant local variations.
