text: Although most types of ornaments were worn throughout the Konyak country, the manufacture of many popular varieties was confined to certain villages or groups of villages. Encroachments on a village's monopoly were rare, and it would seem that on the whole the Konyaks were content to obtain their ornaments by purchase or barter from the traditional producers.
