text: | Women's ornaments were not as varied as those of men, and besides the many types manufactured locally from brass and brass alloy, some of which had been handed down from generation to generation and were consequently valued as prestige symbols, most necklets, necklaces, armbands, earrings, and hair ornaments were fashioned from glass beads imported from the plains of Assam. |
