text: | Among the Konyaks there were also excellent metal-workers, who were famous for the high quality of their iron weapons and implements, particularly dao, and for their brass ornaments. According to an Ao tradition, the earlier inhabitants of their country were expert blacksmiths, and so it is not unlikely that the art of working metal has been long established in some parts of the Naga country. |
