While the settlement pattern of Thenkoh villages resembled in broad outline that which I have described for Wakching, the layout of Thendu villages made no provision for the storage of wood outside the village, nor for the storage of grain in granaries at the entrance gate; the individual villager built up his wood reserves under his own roof and kept his grain in a small granary near his own dwelling house. |
