text: By no means all the porters take this point of view. The Lhotas and Rengmas recognize the heads as valuable trophies, and are burning with impatience to receive their share, but the Semas and the Sangtams stand on their dignity. A head that has not been severed from an enemy's body is to them useless for ceremonial purposes.
