expenses and payments extraordinary and from which in expenses to Steph Smyth and Jn Tilvyke carpenters riding from Colne as far as Edwardeston to superintend the repair of a house there for one day both for the men themselves and their horses going there stopping and returning from there 13d and in the expenses of Jn Mille riding from Colne as far as London to speak with the bishop of London in the month of april this year viz for certain negotiations touching the said priory going there stopping and returning from there for four days 3s4d and in the expenses of Jn Mille himself riding from Colne towards London in the month of November this year for having a summons against the prioress of Hengham viz for going there stopping and returning from there for seven days 2s4d and for one horse hired to Jn himself for the same said time viz for 4d per day 2s4d and in the expenses of the same said horse for the same time 2s3d1h and in wine given to master Nich Herry for going to London for holding the council against the said prioress twice 8d and in wine for master Simon Kempeston brought there for the same 6d twice etc and in a gift given to the aforesaid master Nich 6s8d and in a gift given to the said Simon Kempeston for the aforesaid reason 3s4d and money for a certain citation against the said prioress for the aforesaid cause 3s4d and in one horse hired for Jn Mille riding from London towards Abyndon for Jn Sowhete and Jn Crux professing vows in the monastery and for consulting with the abbot of Abyngdon for other negotiations touching the said priory viz going there staying and returning from there for seven days viz 4d per day 2s4d and in the expenses of the said horse for the said time 2s2d and in the expenses of the said Jn Mille for the same time 2s6d and in the expenses of the master Jn Wykham for the time he was kept there with a certain infirmity and was with the rector of Langenho to recover for medicines and other expenses for the monk himself made at the same time altogether 16s3d and in the expenses of Jn Mille and Steph Smyth riding from Colne towards Edwardston going as far as Beauchamp for holding the court there and supervising the repairs there for three days and three nights 16d and in the expenses of the same men riding from Colne as far as Messynge to consult with Rich Baynard and Robt de Teye about the portion of the tithe in Aldham for one day 14d and in the expenses of Steph Smyth riding from Colne towards Melford to speak with Jn Gale and Jn Sare carpenters for divers negotiations of the house one time 6d and in the expenses of Steph himself riding from Colne towards Sudbury to speak with the commissioner of the bishop of Norwich once 6d and in the expenses of Jn Mille and Steph Smyth riding from Colne as far as Bentlegh and going as far as Dovercort for the holding the court there and superintending other repairs there and returning from there in the month of january this year 2s1d and in the expenses of the same riding from Colne as far as Colchester to speak with the commissioner of the bishop of London about the rectory of Bentlegh once 6d and in the expenses of Steph Smyth riding from Colne as far as Wykham in the county of Cambridge to show evidence of the said prior to the commissioner of the bishop of Ely riding from there as far as Cambridge to speak with the abbot of Abyndon there about certain negotiations of the house 18d and in the expenses of Jn Mille riding from Colne as far as London in the month of february this year to speak with the bishop of London Rich Baynard and Walt Bodulgate concerning divers negotiations of the house viz for four days going there staying and returning from there altogether 2s and 4bush of oats bought for the horse of the aforesaid Jn Mille writer of this account and other court rolls indentures and documents for the said priory etc 20d and in the expenses of Steph Smyth riding from Colne as far as Halstead on account of tiles for mending three times both for his expenses and his horse etc 6d and in the expenses of Steph himself riding from Colne as far as Colchester on account of locks and other iron things for mending at the said priory 8d and in the expenses of Steph himself riding from Colne as far as Balydon five times for lime for repairs at the said priory this year four times 10d and in the expenses of Steph himself being at the said priory for three days to superintend the work the tiling and other work there etc per day 4d altogether 12d and in the expenses of the lord prior and three men going with him from Colne as far as Coggeshale to speak with Wm Coggeshale clerk (sic) about the withdrawal of the rents of the house and for other negotiations touching the said priory altogether 2s10d and in the expenses of the prior himself and of his men going with him from Colne as far as Halsted to speak with the official of the archdeacon of Middlesex about certain negotiations touching the said priory etc altogether 2s5d1d and in parchment bought both for this account and the rolls of courts indentures and other evidences of the said priory this year written altogether 2s2d and a payment to the abbot of Stratford collector of the half of one of the kings tenths from Clare this year granted for the spiritual affairs of the said priory in the archdeaconry of Middlesex 31s6d3f and a payment to the abbot of Coggehale collector of the same said half of the tenth in the archdeaconry of Colchester 28s7d1h and a payment to the collector to the same said half of the tenth in the county of Suffolk th is year 14s8d and a payment to the archdeacon of Colchester for a re nt called procuration for the church of White Colne this year 5s and a payment to master Mansfeld for a rent called sene# for the same said church 14d and a payment to Thos Segge vicar of the church of Bentlegh for his pension this year 26s8d and a payment for the pasturing of two of his cows there this year 3s and a payment to the pope's collector for the house on account of the procurations from White Colne this year 5s and for the settlement thereof 4d and in the expenses of Steph Smyth riding as far as Colchester for repairing the clock there once 4d and a payment to Rich Skynnere for the carrying of the same from Colne as far as Colchester 8d and a payment to a certain man riding from Colne as far as Colchester for mending locks against the feast of easter 4d and in a gift given to Jn Cook apparitor of the bishop of London and in the same said given to the bailiff of Clare 12d and in the expenses of Jn Mille and Steph Smyth riding from Colne as far as Hengham to speak with the prioress there and from there as far as Beauchamp to superintend the rectory there three times in the expenses of the same and
