inquisition taken at Earls Colne 3.9.1585 before Jn Gosse coroner on view of the body of Robt Underwood servant of Jn Bake of Little Horkesley yeoman the jurors say that on 22.4.1585 there between one and three pm the said Underwood had occasion to ride across a bridge on his master's business but the current then was so strong that he could not cross the river and in crossing the bridge his horse caught a hoof between two planks and this threw the said Underwood into the water where he was instantly drowned the horse saddle and reins were a deodand worth 46s8d by misfortune
