and furthermore whereas at a court here held 29.3.1627 Barth Heyward was admitted tenant of the lord for himself and his heirs to one messuage called Gurneys and to certain lands called Gurneys Fen and to certain lands called Melfeild lying in Sible Heningham and Castle Heningham as by a roll of the aforesaid court it appears now at this court it is shown by the homage that after the last court viz 3.9.1641 the aforesaid Barth Heyward surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Edw Clarke instead of the bailiff in the presence of Robt Carter and Simon Holden two customary tenants of the aforesaid manor the same testifying all and singular the aforesaid premises then in the tenure of the said Barth to the use and behoof of Wm Sparrow of Gestingthorpe yeoman his heirs and assigns forever who present in court humbly sought admittance to whom the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the aforesaid premises with appurtenances to the aforesaid Wm Sparrowe his heirs and assigns forever from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord for a fine and made fealty etc
