whereas at a court here held 7.10.1643 Antho Bentall was admitted tenant of the lord for himself and his heirs to two crofts of land containing by estimation 11a called Broomefeild or by whatever other name it is recognised as by a roll of the aforesaid court it appears now at this court it is shown by the homage that the aforesaid Antho Bentall after the last court viz 21.8.1649 surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Wm Adams senior instead of the bailiff and in the presence of Jn Brewer and Robt Abbott two customary tenants of the aforesaid manor the same testifying the aforesaid croft of land with appurtenances to the use and behoof of Thos Osborne of Earls Colne his heirs and assigns who present in court humbly sought admittance to the premises to whom the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have and to hold the aforesaid two crofts of land with appurtenances to the aforesaid Thos Osborne his heirs and assigns from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord for a fine and made fealty
