whereas at a court here held 23.3.1658 Xoph Mathew and Bridget his wife were admitted for themselves and their heirs to one tenement and to all those customary lands in Earls Colne called Bomes alias Bomefeilds or otherwise containing by estimation 11a more or less with appurtenances together with a messuage lately erected thereupon now at this court it is shown by the homage that the aforesaid Xoph Mathew died divers years ago and that the aforesaid Bridget survived him and furthermore it is shown by the homage that after the last court the aforesaid Bridget died and that Jn Pigg of Newport Essex yeoman is her brother and next heir who the same said present here in court humbly sought from the lord admittance to the aforesaid premises as tenant to whom the lord by his steward granted and delivered seisin thereof by the rod to have and to hold the messuage lands and other premises with appurtenances to the same said Jn Pigg his heirs and assigns from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord for a fine etc
