admission of Jn Sarjant | at this court came Jn Morley and Mary his wife and Edw Abbutt Mary herself first by the steward solely and secretly examined and consenting as is the custom surrendered by the rod into the hands of the lord by the hands of the said steward all that parcel of land called Preistland and Dagnall Hill lying together and containing by estimation 24a more or less situated in Earls Colne to the sole use and behoof of Jn Sarjant of Chapel also Pontisbright clerk his heirs and assigns forever and upon this the aforesaid Jn Sarjant humbly sought from the lord admittance for himself to the premises as tenant to whom the lord by his steward granted and delivered seisin of the premises by the rod to have and to hold the aforesaid parcel of land with appurtenances to the aforesaid Jn Sarjant his heirs and assigns from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord for a fine etc |
