whereas at a court here held

it was shown by the then homage that on
13.3.last

surrendered by the rod into the hands of the lord of the aforesaid manor by the hands of the aforesaid steward one messuage or customary tenement with garden adjoining and two crofts of land containing by estimation 2a more or less situated in the street called Church Street in Earls Colne then in the tenure or occupation of the aforesaid

to the uses intentions and propositions and upon certain provisions and conditions mentioned below namely to the use of the aforesaid

senior nephew of the aforesaid

the son legitimately procreated and the heirs male of the body of his first born son legitimately procreated and in default of such issue to the use of the second third and all and singular the other son or sons of the body of the said

the son legitimately procreated separately and successively and in remainder thus to the same said son and all and singular by seniority and eldest and first born and separately and respectively to the heirs male of the body and bodies all and singular of the same said son and sons living thus that the first born of such sons and the heir male of his body should always be preferred and have the premises before the later born sons of the same said sons and the heirs male of their bodies and in default of such issue to the use of

senior for and during the term of his natural lifetime and after his decease to the use of the first son etc
upon the divers other conditions and provisions in the aforesaid surrender specified and mentioned now at this court it is shown by the homage that the aforesaid

senior present here in court humbly sought admittance from the lord to the messuage and aforesaid lands for himself as tenant to whom the lord by the aforesaid steward granted and delivered seisin thereof by the rod to have and to hold the aforesaid messuage lands and all and singular the aforesaid premises with appurtenances to the aforesaid

senior and his assigns for and during the term of his natural life with the remainder to those thereof as above mentioned in the surrender from the lord by the rod at the w ill of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord for a fine etc but his fealty was respited etc |
