at a court here held 3.4.14Chas2 Dan Grimston was admitted to him and his heirs to eight crofts or parcels of land called Morelands containing by estimation 40a more or less with a barn and stable thereon built with appurtenances and at the last court here held it appeared to the homage that the said Dan Grimston after the then last court died so seised but while he was alive he surrendered the premises by the name of all his customary lands held of the manor to the use of his will now at this court came Jn Grimston son of the said Dan and showed the last will of the said Dan dated 7.2.1678 the tenor of which concerning the premises is these english words following item further I give and devise to my said son Jn Grimston all that my copyhold messuage called Morland or by whatsoever other name or names called or known with all the lands meadows and pastures thereunto belonging with the appurtenances situate lying and being in Earls Colne in the county aforesaid and holden of the manor of Colne Priory to hold to my said son Jn and to his heirs and assigns forever and upon this the said Jn Grimston humbly petitioned admittance etc and the lord by the steward granted and delivered seisin by the rod to have and to hold the said parcels of land and all and singular the premises to the said Jn Grimston his heirs and assigns etc and he gave the lord for fine etc and made fealty etc
