examined by the steward and consenting and surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of the steward one messuage with a garden and an orchard with appurtenances in Earls Colne in the street called Church Street in the occupation of the said

to the use of
Geo Toller
gentleman his heirs and assigns forever and upon this the said

humbly petitioned admittance of the lord who by the steward granted and delivered seisin to have and to hold the premises aforesaid to the said
Geo Toller
his heirs and assigns etc and the fine w as pardoned and after in this court came
Rich Harlakenden
gentleman and by licence of the lord according to the custom of the manor and complained against the said
Geo Toller
in a plea of land viz of one messuage one garden and one orchard with appurtenances in Earls Colne aforesaid within the jurisdiction etc and said that
Geo Toller
did not have ingress after the disseisin of Hugh Hunt etc and petitioned the bailiff to bring
Geo Toller
to reply at the hour of eight am this same day etc and
Geo
present in court defended himself etc and brought to warrant the said
Sam Burton
and
Frances
his wife etc
Rich Harlakenden
complained against them and they brought to warrant
Jn Garret
who defended himself against
Rich Harlakenden
etc court adjourned and afterwards
Jn Garret
failed to appear so that the said
Rich Harlakenden
recovered seisin against him
Giles Crow
the bailiff delivered seisin to
Rich Harlakenden
etc and the fine pardoned and afterwards in this court the said
Rich Harlakenden
surrendered the premises aforesaid to the use of
Sam Burton
and
Frances
his wife and their heirs and assigns forever and after that the said
Sam Burton
and
Frances
petitioned admittance of the lord to whom by the steward seisin was delivered etc fine pardoned |
