at this court it appeared to the homage that Wm Meadow customary tenant of this manor 29.5.last surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Geo Toller instead of the bailiff in the presence of Sam Finch and Simon Overall two customary tenants etc all that customary messuage or tenement commonly called or known by the name of Dedmans or any other name and other lands belonging containing 50a more or less situate in Earls Colne now in the tenure of Thos Brewer (may be Thos Brewer) or his assigns and all other customary lands and tenements that the said Wm Meadows held of the manor aforesaid to the use of Edw Johnson his heirs and assigns forever who present in court humbly petitioned admittance etc to whom the steward delivered seisin etc to have and to hold the messuage etc to the said Edw Johnson his heirs and assigns at the will of the lord etc and gave the lord for fine etc
