at a court held 23.3.1698 Jn Williamson was admitted to one tenement with a yard belonging late in the occupation of Rich Clitter situate in Holt Street and at a court held 8.4.1712 it appeared that the said Jn after the then last court surrendered all his customary lands tenements and hereditaments held of the manor to the use of his last will and after died seised upon which proclamation was first made etc now at this court came Alice wife of Wm Baker and daughter of the said Jn deceased and showed his will dated 3.4.1712 the tenor concerning the premises in the following words viz first I give and bequeath unto Mary my loving wife all that my copyhold messuage or tenement which I lately bought of Jn Rust standing lying and being in Earls Colne in the county of Essex and holden of the manor of Colne Priory by copy of court roll and is now in my own possession for and during the term of her natural life and after the decease of Mary my wife I give and bequeath the said messuage or tenement unto my daughter Alice now the wife of Wm Baker for and during the term of her natural life and after my daughter Alice shall decease I give the said messuage or tenement unto my son Jn Williamson for and during the term of his natural life with divers remainders as shown in the will and upon this the said Alice was admitted for the term of her life etc and gave fine etc and this admittance is to hold thereafter saving the right etc
