at a court held 28.4.1713 it appeared that on 5.7.1712 Rose Abbutt surrendered by the hands of Solomon Grimston deputy steward all that close of land or pasture containing 8a called Litchards alias Newmans and a parcel of land called Glaziers containing 2a situate in Earls Colne in the tenure of Crabb widow to the use of Jonathan Negus of Poplar in the parish of Stepney Middx mariner on the condition that if the said Rose her heirs executors or administrators pay to the same Jonathan 106li at and upon the day in the surrender mentioned then the surrender void and the sum of 106li was not paid at the appointed day nor later now at this court after three proclamations came the said Jonathan Negus by Solomon Grimston aforesaid his attorney and was admitted etc and gave fine
