at this court it appeared that the said Jeff Wistowe died about the last court seised of certain lands and tenements copyhold of the manor and that he had surrendered the same to his will now at this court came Hannah wife of Jn Ravell of Pebmarsh yeoman and daughter of the said Jeff and showed the will of the said Jeff dated 24.9.1721 the tenor concerning the premises in the following words item I give and bequeath all that my copyhold estate commonly called or known by the name of Brambles in Colne White in the county of Essex with the house barn stable and outhouses and all other appurtenances thereunto belonging unto my daughter Hannah Ravell wife of Jn Ravell during the term of her natural life and after her decease to Hannah Ravell my granddaughter and her heirs forever upon which she is admitted to a messuage or tenement with yard orchard garden and buildings belonging and to four closes late five closes or parcels of land belonging to the messuage in the tenure of Jn Wistoe and now or late called Brambles alias Little Readings situate in White Colne and gave fine as shown in the margin etc
