whereas at a court held 24.3.1696 Robt Honywood esq was admitted in pursuance of the surrender and will of Jn Lamott Honywood esq deceased for term of life remainder to the first second third and every other of his sons successively in tail male with remainders over unto three crofts of lands with appurtenances then late two crofts with a way belonging to the same lying in Markshall containing 4a holden by the annual rent of 5s6d and also unto one piece of meadow containing 1a lying in Colne Meadow abutting onto a meadow belonging to a farm called Curds now at this court the homage present the death of the said Robt and that Rich Honywood is the eldest son and heir of the bodies of the said Robt deceased and Mary his wife whereupon the said Rich was admitted according to the will of the said Jn Lammott Honywood to hold to him and the heirs male of his body etc and gave for fines etc but fealty respited
